Data Transfer from cRIO 9012 RT to ENET-485

Hi,

 I want to send the Acquired data from CompacRIO 9012 controller to other device through RS 485. Can I use ENET-485 for the same?It seems ENET-485  supporths only windows 2000/NT/XP. Is it possible to transfer data from cRIO 9012 RT to ENET-485 .

Hi Priyanku,

Thank you for contacting National Instruments. We've actually updated our list of supported operating systems for ENET-485. The following Knowledge Base talks about it. As far as doing a data transfer using RS-485, there are two options.

1) Use the Real Time Controller to perform the operation. Details on how to implement this is available here. The only issue here is the single port that is available with the cRIO.

2) You can also create a custom RS-485 port on the FPGA. This Knowledge Base and Developer Zone article explains how to go about it.
