Data acquisition dead with PowerMac G5?

I would like to duplicate my data acquisition system (PowerMac G4, OS 9.2, LabView V7.0, PCI-MIO-16E and PCI-6 ch analog out board) on two addtional PowerMac G5 computers that I've just purchased. However, because these machines will only boot OSX, and as I understand, Labview data acquisition is not supported in Classic Mode under OSX, it appears that I have no way to continue data acquisition in this manner. Someone please tell me I am wrong, because it seems that NI's decision not to fully port LabView to OSX, with full functionality, leaves Mac users with new machines dead in the water.

NI's solution for Mac OS X users is through the PXI RT platform. Refer to this link or contact your NI Technical Representative for further information: http://www.ni.com/mac/. Have a great day!

Sarah,

Thanks for your time and your response. I have researched "NI's solution", but it is not a solution to the problem I have at hand. Moving to LabView Real Time and PXI boards is not a path I wish to follow. There must be a number of Mac users in the same boat as I, who have PCI multifunction boards that will not function on new G5 computers or certain wierd G4 machines like mine. Let us hope that either Apple continues to make dual-boot G4s, or NI decides to update LabView to regain the functionality it had under Mac OS 9.x so that it will work on the new G5 machines.

There is another problem besides Labview not yet being compatible with
OSX. That is any PCI cards you use in the G5 Power Macs must be
compatible with the 3.5 volt PCI bus in 1.6 GHz G5 Power Macs or the
3.5 volt PCI-X bus in 1.8 and 2.0 GHz Power Macs. Older 5.0 volt PCI
cards will not work in G5 Power Macs. See page 28 of the November 2003
edition of MacWorld for more information.
