Debugging Shared Variables with Desktop PCs

Hi Frank,

I have seen customers in the past that had difficulty using shared variables due to firewall settings.  You mentioned that you added exceptions for tagsrv.exe and lkads.exe, but there are a couple of other exceptions you could try making (lktsrv.exe and cwdss.exe).  Have a look at the following knowledgebase article:
Set Up LabVIEW, LabVIEW DSC, and Lookout to Work with the Windows Firewall

Give that a try and see if that helps.

Regards,

Hello Devin/Mike,

Finally pinpointed the source of my problem. I have administrator rights on my PC. MY helpdesk collegue from the network management department also has administrator rights. When he logges in on my PC, the client.exe does not hang, every works !    Apparently I do not have all administrator rights as an other administrator, this sounds strange, I know.

Although he still hase to pinpoint the differences in our administrator rights on my PC, I now think everything will become ok.

I want to thank you all for helping me out and wish all the best for 2008.

Kind regards, Frank
