Default Position of Frontpanel and Diagram during development

On my development computer I have two LCD's attached. When ever I open a VI it is placed in the middle between the two screens. I have to move the diagram and front panel to one screen in order to do the programming. Normally I have the Front panel on the left and the diagram on the right screen. It would be nice if when opening a new VI the front panel would be placed on the left and diagram on the right screen automatically. Is there any possibility to define the default location of the Diagram and Front panel Window? Any LavVIEW.ini entry or such ? Rob

One of LabVIEW's development standards calls for saving the FP and diagram such that they are positioned at the top left corner of the primary monitor. This is to ensure they are visable on machines with single small displays.

So what you are asking for violates that recomendation.

I don't think there is a ini token to do that.

Having the option to define the position of new FP and Diagram Windows would just give you the possibility to customize it. If the default option would be to put it in the middle of the desktop that would be OK. I just thought there sure are other developers out there who work with two screens. Rob

After more thought the only suggestion I can offer is "ctrl-t" will switch to "tile mode".

I use two monitors and have not seen the effect you describe. When I create a new VI it appears at the top and 276 pixels right of the left edge of the left (primary) monitor. The left edge of the front panel is 48 pixels farther to the right and offset downward about 36 pixels. This is in LV 8.5 but I think it has been very similar in several previous versions. Mac OS X 10.4.11 and many versions of LV. Maybe it has something to do with how the video driver is configured?
