Default path for LabVIEW builds

I am wondering about being able to set the default directory in LabVIEW for when I create an executable.  What I would like to be able to do is to say for all projects, when I am creating an installer, executable, etc, use this path as the starting point.  IE the build automatically creates a folder for the project and subfolder for the build name, but I want to specify the path before that point.  Any ideas??  Thanks for any help!!!

See the attached pic for changing the Default Data Directory Path which tells LV where to to put the executable & its support files/folders, from the Tools >> Options...

Probably this is the option as far as I know that exists to change all the desired diredctory paths.

I m in LV 7.1. So make a small search to find it in LV 8.2 for you.

parthabe thanks for your comment!!

I've found that setting but I believe it is for data storage.  Right now I have it set to the default LabVIEW location which is My Documents/LabVIEW Data.  However when I create a new build the default location is a path on my network.  I'm pretty sure at some point (on a previous version) I modified this location because the current default (the network location for new builds) is a location that I created specifically for LabVIEW on my network, I just want to change it at this point.  Make sense?

Is there some setting for the default save as or save to location?  Is the path that the application builder automatically choose for the build location based on the project location?

Thanks for any help.

There is a 'Default Directory' setting in the LabVIEW Paths Options as well as a 'Default Data Directory'.  Where are yours pointing?

If what you are looking for is to set the default path LabVIEW looks at to build applications, save files, build installers, etc.  LabVIEW is set to look at the directories where you save files, one way to test this is to create a blank VI and save it to the desktop.  Then create another VI and when you go to save it will also look at the desktop initially.  It seems that since you save most of your VIs to your network location, your application build is going to look for that location as well.  Ideally, this feature helps you to keep all of your files in a uniform location, however, if you would like to have some customization for this option please fill out a product suggestion on our website (go to ni.com and select 'contact us' and the product suggestion center is listed on the following page).  Have a great afternoon!
