Dell Optiplex 790 running 64-bit

Hi,

I have labview 8.6 version. One of my supplier are upgrading there pc with  "Dell Optiplex 790 running 64-bit and windows 7". My question is, does my 8.6 exe run in this PC? means, is there any issues with labview 8.6 and 64 bit PC?

Windows Version Compatibility with LabVIEW

According to this, no.  LabVIEW 2009 was the first version to be compatible with Windows 7.

That said, there have been a number of people who have used older versions of LabVIEW on Windows 7.  So you may still be in luck afterall.

We're running LV 8.5 executables on Windows 7 64 bit. No problem until now. We don't use device drivers and special toolkits, though.

if you do get a problem, you could install virtual box (free from oracle) then install xp on the virtual machine then 8.6 on the virtual machine.

works no problem. (Ihave this on my windows 7 64bit machine but done so i can have multiple versions of labview available)
