Deploying local shared variables on a real-time target

Solved!
Go to solution

I do now (thank you), but honestly I can't see anything at all.  I probably should have mentioned this earlier (oops), but I don't see anything when I click on my target in the DSM.  There are no tabs in the Auto View, just a location, empty current and new value boxes, a Type of "Advance", and a Quality of "SUBSCRIPTION FAILED!".  So probably the whole DSM communication isn't working at all.  In my defense, I've never used it before, so I didn't know what it was supposed to look like, so I didn't realize anything was wrong.

So, any ideas as to why I'm not seeing anything I should on the DSM?

P.S.  This seems like a good time for a screenshot!  Smiley Happy

Hi All,

I do have one question here.

If I use host vi as main and rt vi as support, host vi controlling rt vi by shared variable.

How can I do to control hardware by just open host vi instead of both?

@ jmorris

I think what you see is fine. The only thing missing is a user defined process that hosts variables.

option1:

Now you can manually create a new process on localhost or \\WIES_2 (via the context menu) and setup your variables.

option2:

Deploy your <sve_process_name>.lvlib file via the project explorer or programmatically to one of your targets.

Hope it helps

Christian

Hello All,

I am a Test Engineer from India, I am working on same concept to address a solution. I dont know weather people who actively participated in this post address the issue are still active?

After i read this post, i thought of asking weather the issue is solved or not? As i am facing similar issue. The SVE Engine in cRIO RT stops working after some time or once I close the Host VI.

Due to which when i start my Host.vi again it throws an error saying the SV is not available.

If the issue is solved, please post it here how was it addressed.

Thanks and Regards,

Phani.

Hi!

I would suggest posting your question as a new forum post with a reference to this one. This will give you the most visibility to active users.
