Desktop PC for ETS target

Hi,

I've tried to use my DELL Pc as en ETS target. But it's failed due to the ethernet chipset.

My Dell is an Optiflex 170L with a Intel PRO/100 VE Network.

I thought that board is compatible with your OS (I've checked it on your list). Is it true?

Could you give me a list of compatible DELL computer?

I've already read this 2 documents.

And in the second one (https://www.ni.com/en/support/documentation/supplemental/08/requirements-for-desktop-pcs-as-phar-lap...), my ethernet board "Intel® Pro/100 VE "0x1032, 0x103D"(8.5+)" is notified as supported.

But when i used the evaluated software, I've got an error about my ethernet board. So I don't understand where is the problem.

I do not think we have an evaluation copy of LabVIEW Real time. Are you positive that you are using a copy of the LabVIEW 8.5 Real Time Module (ETS)?

No, I don't use a evaluation copy of Labview RT. But I used the PC eval software (pceval.exe) to indicate if my PC is compatible or not.

Sorry about that- I just thought you might have the wrong software.

Two questions:

Is the computer under test  connected to a network with a running DHCP server during testing?

Does the motherboard support both 3.3V and 5V power rails?

I will make a comment about pceval, it sometimes returns erroneous results. I'm not sure whether it has been update recently, but when I ran it on our PXI based system using a Kontron CP307 dual core processor it gave a compatibility problem message with the SATA hard drive. This compatibility was corrected in 8.5, but doesn't show up as such in the pceval, so if the written documentation indicates compatibility and the pceval says otherwise, it still may be ok.

     I will have to agree with LV_Pro on this case of the pceval.exe software.  When I used it to build my Real-Time system I used the pceval software and to me it seemed a little out of date an no descriptive.  I am not sure what the latest update of the software is but on the page where it states to download the software it says "Primary Software Version: 8.2" so it is probably not even looking for new 8.5 compatibilty ethernet cards.  So I would try to get my hands on a trial version of LabVIEW and the Real-Time Module from your local NI representative.  I hope that helps.

I've tried to install the ETS RT OS on my Optiflex 170L. This installation failed to due the network.

But, I've found a network PCI board with an intel chipset. And It's working with this board. So I've got a RT target for my test.
