Desktop RT - TTN - Clock Synchronization

Hi,

I have been using a Desktop-RT system with a Time Triggered Network for more than 1 year with no problems (LV 8.2). Because I have to make a software update and I am developing with 8.5 I also did an update on my Desktop RT machines. Unfortunately after the update my slave computer hangs up during the clock synchronization dialog and only a hardware reset helps to reconnect (see  "8.5_ttn.JPG").

For the deterministic communication we use the PCI 8232 and for the public network the Intel 8255 card. What can cause this crash? Reading a network shared variable works without problems but only the time triggered variable. The time triggered variable is transmitted in a dedicated time slot (from 100 us to 130 us) - the cycle time is 1000 us. Enclosed you can find the complete RT-Network.

Maybe it is a known issue or somebody has an hint for me.

Best Regards,

Joachim

Hello Joachim,

you are already in contact about the issue with National Instruments.
It works with our PXI systems. I guess you got the special offer to send your RT Desktop PCs to National Instruments Germany for further testing.

Kind regards,

Elmar

Hello Elmar,

I have heard about this option to send the equipment to NI Germany after this posting. I also think that in a forum everybody is invited to give hints or suggestions - maybe it is an known issue. We are using the Desktop RT system on a very critical production aggregate and a simple software update shouldn't result in such a longsome challenge.

To summarize my tests I think that the system becomes inconsistent after trying to run the startup application on the slave machine.

Kind Regards,

Joachim

P.S.: Today we shipped the Desktop-RT equipment.
