Hello NI. I'm looking for the digikey part lookup tool that a colleague told me about that was done in labview. She told me that it links to SPICE/CAD/PCB tools somehow. I do PXI interface boards for LabVIEW and I usually use one of the online vendors like Digikey to make sure they have my parts available.
Is there any LabVIEW code for this? Does anyone know where I can find it?
Thanks

RW,
Sorry there is no LabVIEW source code available for this, but we did build an add-on application tool that works with the NI Multisim environment and allows users to create circuit symbols with attached Digi-Key part information. The symbols can be auto-generated or can be taken from an existing template database and automatically linked to footprints for creating PCB parts in Multisim (which allows you to do PCB layout in the related NI Ultiboard tool).
If you'd like to try it out, I would recommend first downloading the Multisim Circuit Design Suite Pro tool here:
https://lumen.ni.com/nicif/us/evalmultisim/content.xhtml
Once you've done this you can download the Multisim Digi-Key Part Generator tool here to try out the part creation abilities:
https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-26943
There is a discussion already on the NI Circuit Design Suite board (https://forums.ni.com/t5/Circuit-Design-Suite-Multisim/bd-p/370)...
By the way if you are interested Multisim tool does have an extensive database of NI cable connectors (PCB mountable) to allow NI customers to build up custom test interfaces to PXI, DAQ, RIO, etc...
Good luck with your test projects!

Pat N
