Digitizing HP3458A using LV

I am trying to use Labview to digitize a 60 hz wave in labview using a HP3458A.  I have found several questions on the forums but no real answers.  If anyone has code that they could share to get me started that would be great as I am very new to this.  The two problems I am getting are a timeout error 6 in labview and a trigger to fast on the 3458A.  Any help would be greatly appreciated

Could you provide a bit more information? There are 3 different drivers that can be used. Exactly which one are you using (provide the link). Are you running one of the examples that come with a driver or is it code you wrote. If it's your code, can you attach it?

Also, error 6 is not a timeout error. With GPIB, it's an I/O opeation aborted. What do you mean by 'trigger too fast'?

All I am using is a GPIB write and a GPIB read to aquire data.  The "trigger to fast" is an error that I am getting from the hp3458A.  I will try to post what I have.

Instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, why don't you try one of the already written drivers. I would recomend the LabVIEW project style if you have LabVIEW 8 or greater.

This is a very simple version of what I am starting out with.

I would use the drivers on the site if they had the functions that I need.  There is not currently a Digitizing funtion that I found.

Hi JBarta,

What drivers are you using if you aren't using the ones here?

Can you please post screen shots of your errors?

Thanks!

What do you mean not having a digitizing function? There's a function to configure a multipoint measurement and a function to return multiple points. There's even a couple of examples. Your VI won't work for retrieving any data because you are not doing a query of anything.
