Direct injector controller

hello,

I'm new to this forum and I need your help.

I want to control a direct injector but I don't know what is required for this job.

I have read about compact rio injector driver but I don't know if it still produced.

Do I need to use lab view program or there is another program?

Please, help me with this if you have an idea and it will be good if there is any link to help me.

Thanks.

Start with defining the problem. What is a direct injector (automotive? Medical?) and how does it interface to the rest of the world? Define what you mean by "control". Volume? Time? Feedback loop? etc. What hardware do you have?

By typing "NI 9751" into a Web browser, I found this 2014 NI manual describing how to setup and use this module which seems designed for automotive "parts".  Don't know if the NI driver is still available -- the manual discusses running it on Windows 7, and pretty soon we'll all be running Windows 11, which will require a fairly recent (LabVIEW 2023?) version of LabVIEW.

P.S. -- the word "this" on the first line in a link to the manual ...

The NI 9751 has been discontinued several years ago. You may be able to order old refurbished modules from sites like:

https://www.apexwaves.com/modular-systems/national-instruments/c-series/NI-9751

According to this page you need to install the according drivers through VIPM, it is not part of the standard NI CompactRIO software driver installation. This used to be a 3rd-party module that was resold by NI but they discontinued it at some point several years ago.

Thank you very much for your reply.

it seems that it will be difficult to get all the parts as it discontinued.

Do you know another modules to do the job and control the fuel injector?

let me know if you have any idea

thanks again

What level of injector control are you looking for?

What is your purpose of injector control? Are you testing the fuel injector? Are you developing an ECU?

Do you already have an ECU? Are you looking for an off-the-shelf ECU or do you want to develop your own?

thanks for your reply

- I want to build a test rig to investigate the hydrogen fuel injection process. So, I will use an injector and of course I will need to adjust some parameters.
I don't have an ECU. I ask about some off-the-shelf ECU.

I think the next figure will help you to understand better. I want controller like it.

Ok Now you need to break each one of these things down that you want to control:

How does it work?
What do you need to control it?
What type of data do you need from it?

Look up each component. You should be able to find the information you need on line. You need to find out how to control each one. From that point you need to build a system that allows for control of each system that you want to control. This sounds like a big first project. If you find the info for the first part we can help you get started. I would recommend that you look at the basics training for LabVIEW before you start.

The group that created the NI 9751 (formerly Drivven / NI Powertrain Controls) are now a company called "Vieletech". Hopefully they can help.
