Disable drag scrolling in development environment?

Does anyone know if it's possible to turn off drag scrolling in the IDE?  More specifically, I don't want selection dragging to be able to push my block diagrams around.  This drives me a little crazier every day.  I skimmed the forums and tools->options, but it might be deeper than that.  Any settings, workarounds to get this to happen?

Set your Horizontal and Vertical scrollbars to "Always Off" using the context menu on the scrollbar or the VI Properties and Window Appearance. This has it's disadvantages, but is the only way I know of to turn off the pesky autoscrolling.

I was thinking more along the lines of the block diagram.

part of the problem is that select-drag-scrolling is so fast, that if I'm trying to use it to pan a little bit, it's too much.  The other problem (and this is the same for the FP) is when I miss a click near the edge of the window and drag it off to oblivion. This happens a lot when doing stuff like resizing, dragging scroll bars, or dragging a window around on the desktop.

I did notice, though, that ctrl-shift selects the pan tool **only** in auto-tool select mode.  I prefer manual select, but I don't see any reason why ctrl-shift with the select tool when over empty space shouldn't do the same thing in manual select mode.

PEBKAC. Get a mouse with a higher DPI.

I say this 100% tongue-in-cheek... I'm not making fun of you, I'm poking fun at the fact that this is a usability issue annoys many, including myself. Become a better user with a steadier hand is the only current solution!

This is actually one of the problems that makes selecting items difficult, and fixing Front Panels that scroll to oblivion is not straightforward.

I *already* use a Razer high dpi mouse!

and thanks for the links, the fact that selection in the IDE doesn't work like graphics and CAD (enclosed/inclusive) has bugged me from day 1.

be nice if scroll speed was like how it is in the last few versions of Excel, where it slows down when you get to the edge of the data.
