Does anyone have any knowledge of interfacing Labview with Broadcast technology's products(DVTM 2003)?

I need to use the RS232 to extract data from the receiver, but it seems that labVIEW was unable to read anything out of it. I have tried the examples in the VI library but it cant work.

did any software communicate via the rs232 cable with your device ?
ReSolder 2-->3-->2 is the normal shortcut for rs232 cabling. And if some software could communicate did you not forget an end character ?

Does it mean i have to cross the serial cable?Meaning crossing the transmit pin to the recieve pin? I am very new to this business of interfacing hardware to PC. It seems that in order to communicate with the reciever, the commands are supposed to be within an ascii and ends with . The actual command is a 3 char. string within the above mentioned <>. Any help is welcomed!!
