Does the downloadable LabView 8.0 demo require uninstall of previous versions?

I want to try the downloadable LabView 8.0 demo from ftp://ftp.ni.com, however I need to know if I need to uninstall previous versions of LabView prior to installing this demo?
Best regards,

No. If, you also choose to download any new hardware drivers like DAQmx, VISA, NI-GPIB, etc, those new drivers will overwrite your existing drivers though.

Add to this note that if you are using DAQ of Fieldpoint functions that are older than LV 7.0, support for those functions will be REMOVED from the eariler versions.

Hello,

Don't worry about all of these items though -- if you are just downloading the new LabVIEW to explore all the new features and not interested in drivers or hardware yet you should have NO problems with using your previous LabVIEW versions (just choose not to install the Driver CD when installing LabVIEW).

Good luck, and please don't hesitate to post if you have further questions!

"Don't worry about all of these items though -- "

I lost $4K of income due to the driver issues on my machine and having to restore my hard drive from a "pre-LV8" image. I think it worth trying to make sure others do not suffer a similar loss!

Trying to help,
