Only the creator of the message thread can mark a message as the solution. With a long, ongoing thread such as this, a "solution" is meaningless as there is no original question, and hundreds of people have had there questions "solved" by getting their VI's converted.
Just say thanks, kudo the responder's reply, and move on.
