Drag and Drop a Picture from outside source

I have been writing a small program for some time. It is kind of a collection database and I have come across a rpoblem I can't seem to find a workaround.

I have a picture control. I would like to drag a picture (jpeg/gif) from internet or local hd to this control. And I would like that control to save this image to a predefined folder and name on the local hd and also show the dragged picture on the control.

I have checked the labview examples fro drag and drop, but I couldn't figure them out. Thanks in advance for any and all the help you can provide.

Hi ZolanSilv...,

what have you done so far and where do you have problems. How do you drag and drop picture from the internet? You can use a Path control. It has already the possibility to drag pathes into it. Build a code which checks if the control values has changed and react on it.

Hope it helps.

Actually I couldn't do much. The problem is with dragging and dropping not saving. I couldn't drag and drop a picture into a picture control/indicator. If I could do that I am fairly certain I can save the file to the hd.

Get Drag and Drop data gets string or arrays of string. The first thing I couldn't figure out was how to make it take a picture instead of a string.

I was hoping to use the picture control for the drag and drop....

But this surely is a perfect idea. It does exactly what I want. It saves me for today. Thank you very much!

If anyone knows how to use the picture control for this I would still love to hear it. Though as I said, problem solved 😄
