I was trying to bring a subVI closer to a wire source when I had the surprise that it got "inserted" into the label of nearby object.
Watch this video for a demo.
Not a very big deal, but what is the intended purpose of this drag and drop capability? I did not manage to drop anything else in an object label: path constant, string constant, string decoration, terminals, property nodes, nothing else seems to be droppable.
In some cases, that means we need to drop the object close but not too close and then use arrow keys to bring it to its final location.
Small annoyance.

What version of LabVIEW?
I can't replicate it with LV 2011 SP1.

Try this VI. Works in LV 2011 SP1 for me.

That's been around for a long time. I get bit by it every once in a while. I have never seen the use of the feature, but I am sure there is a reason for it.

I actually may have seen it before too. I just happen to be in full debug mode and couldn't find a simple reason for it. If somebody cares to explain or bothers to CAR it, the better.

I can replicate it on my home PC which is also running 2011 SP1. I'll have to try your VI again on my work PC tomorrow.
Now the question is what is different between my work PC and home PC. My work PC is XP, and the home PC is Vista. I don't know why that should matter. What operating system are you using?

I tested it on Windows XP 32 bit/LV 2011 SP1 and Mac OS X 10.7.3/LV 2011.

Today on my work PC, I am able to replicate the behavior. I don't know why it wasn't doing it for me yesterday.
If anyone else who follows this post tries it and finds they can't replicate it, I hope they add a comment.
I don't know if this behavior would be expected or not. I don't see very much use for it, so I think it should not act this way as it can cause problems while creating VI's. But then again, if it has always been this way, intentionally or not, I have never stumbled across it before to cause me a problem.
