I'm an optimist so I'm guessing LabVIEW will now go back to perpetual license and the price will be $100 per seat, people will flock to labview because it is awesome and it will be the #3 programming language in 5 years!
I hope Emerson leadership is paying attention!

Yes, Emerson is an Engineer company like NI before. They hopefully understand that the stupid subscription models ruined NI's and many of its customers relationships..

All the former NI leadership disappeared from ni.com. It goes to Emerson Leadership Page...
Good riddance ... Now that the salesmen are gone hopefully NI can get back on track with being an engineering / engineer centric company with Emmerson.

Being a Labview user since its beginning on PC platform, I am glad to be just retired, I was very disappointed by the end of perpetual license in 2022. Maybe you are right, Emerson will get NI back on tracks.

I'm not convinced. Emerson board of directors is if anything, even more laser focused on shareholder value than the last NI management was.

Well I hope it goes well for LabVIEW but I'm not holding my breath. I don't want anything to do with any business that holds shareholder value over user value.

emerson is hopeless, try to get some support from them, just any response. Just, anything really. Makes Carel look good, and they are hopeless, too.
Subscription is here to say. Autodesk went. Solidworks first said, they never will. Which means off course now they do. Ioninja does.
Seems Adesk business model is the formerly mentioned one, Revit got nothing on Ecotects abilities....

Does that mean that you don't have a car, no kitchen appliance, TV set and computer at home? Business nowadays, with very few exceptions, is about shareholder value and high provisions for the management that realizes them. Anything else is second thought if it even occurs in the thoughts!
And if your company is publicly traded, you actually have to think like that when you work in management. Otherwise you end up with a legal claim from shareholders for not doing your assigned duty. Nobody cares if the company will still exist over 5 years, the yearly or quarterly financial statement is the golden calf that everybody is dancing around.
