Error 1003 while building application for cRIO

Hello!

I tried to build a RT-application for the cRIO system an get following error message:

Error 1003 occurred at ABAPI Dist Chg and Save VIs.vi -> ABAPI Dist Build LLB Image.vi -> ABAPI Copy Files and Apply Settings.vi -> RTBEP_Invoke_Build_Engine.vi -> RTBUIP_Build_Invoke.vi -> RTBUIP_Build_Invoke.vi.ProxyCaller

Possible reason(s):

LabVIEW:  The VI is not executable.

I can run the application from LabVIEW without errors.

With kind regards
C. Zaum

Ah, error 1003...

What LV version are you using?

Here are a few things to try:

- Uncheck "Disconnect type definitions and remove unused polymorphic VI instances" in the Advanced section of the builder.

- Remove front panels from sub VIs that use shared variables (if you're using LV8)

- Check "Enable debugging" in Advanced.

There may be some other things but see which one, if any, of these works for you.

Thanks!

Enabeling "debugging" solved the problem.
What does that option do exactly? Can there be a disadvantage by using this option?
For example, is the execution of the RT-programm slower?

I am using LabVIEW 8.0.1 with RT and FPGA module.

Enabling "debugging" may cause your application to run slightly slower, but probably not by much.  But what it is really used for is now you can use remote debugging of your application (see Operate>>Debug Application).  It's a really handy feature.  I'm not sure why it would fix your build though.

That's a good question. I don't know why, but it works 🙂
It will make the program run slower because it adds some overhead to the processing of the code (it checks for breakpoints and stuff like that). I wonder if it's because the block diagrams are included when you check that option... as if when it's unchecked, something goes missing?! hmm...
