Hi all,
I am setting up the voltage levels on two 4110 power supply cards on my PXI chassis. The first card is setup fine, but the second card throws an error
about the channel settings I have selected requiring an auxiliary power source. I have no idea what could be causing this or why. Pic is attached.
NI Software : LabVIEW 2009
NI Hardware : Two PXI 4110 cards in a PXI chassis, controlled through PCI via a desktop running Windows 7.
OS : Windows 7
Any insight on where the issue could be coming from or what the error really means is appreciated.
Thanks,
LFegely

I have never tried to run two 4110's so I can only venture a guess...
Could you try to replace the VI you have circled in blue with a "commit" to rule out the possibility the "niDCPower Initiate.vi" is acting on both.
Admitted wild guess,
Ben

Hi Ben,
Thanks for the suggestion - I tried it, but the error was the same.
We have been using two 4110's on this setup for years - we have just updated the hardware (custom card) the 4110's (and a 6259) is connected to, and thus had to make some software changes to match the hardware. But the only part of this subvi that changed was the reference to the 6259 (used to be a 6115), so that should not be causing this issue... I'm pretty stumped.

What are the values you have set for the current limits/levels when you actually call Initiate? The defaults in that VI?
If you attempt to source more than 100 mA on channel 1 or channel 2 on the PXI-4110, you need to have an external power supply connected. See NI PXI-4110 Internal and Auxiliary Power.
It would be helpful if you could paste the entirety of the error message.
What version of NI-DCPower are you using?

Yes, that was the issue! I had accidentally set the current limit to 150mA on channels 1 and 2 (it was only channel 0 that actually needed to be that high).
Thanks very much for your help!

I have the same problem. I followed the advices but no solutions. the max current is been set to 100 mA. The NI-DC power supply was implemented in a software. It works for some tests but here it doest.
anyone can help??
Thanks in advance

Strangely, I didn't receive your email update from 2020-03-24, just from 2020-03-30.
Your error message indicates that the Power Source In Use property is set to Internal, but you are configuring a greater current (>100 mA) than is supported with that. To do so, you will need to attach an external power supply and configure the Power Source to either be "Automatic" (the default) or "Auxiliary".
Since "Automatic" is the default, I'm guessing that the external power supply is not attached.

Hello Tobias,
thnaks for ur reply. The external PS is really attached. But how can I set the PS to either "Auto" or "Aux"? Do u think it can bring sth
