Error 1379 occurred at Open Application Reference

We had the same problem!  The solution was to install NI Device Drivers (3 CDs) on the server computer.  It solved the problem.  We were using LabVIEW 8.5.  The device drivers may contain some NI security libraryfiles.  We initially thought mltiple network cards was the problem but the device drivers was problem.  It works great!

We also had the same problem on a server running LV RunTime 8.5. Does anybody know which components that are missing in the setup or why this occurs? We had to install components from the Device Driver CD to get the "Open Application Reference" to accept valid machine name inputs. The Device Driver CD contains aprox 1.8 Gb of data and it is not an option to include this in our on setup.

Is this issue computer or OS related, or does the LV RunTime miss key components in order to use VI Server?
