I have a 8.5 version VI which works perfectly well in the full environment and will successfully build and executable when enable debugging is checked (prior to this error 1502 was thrown). The executable has a broken arrow symbol and will not work. When remotely debugged the error in the title appears (Error Message - Juse :: Gen Code missing VI in KInitPass) and tells me to contact technical support.
Can anyone help?

Further to my previous post I have isolated the problem to an errant Sub-vi, which appears to be fine but contains a vi form the Users.lib that wont work on the computer that builds the EXE files. On another machine running 8.5 the example vi is OK When opening the errant vi, the warning message says that it is missing the daqmx.rc file however I have copied this over from the directory on the machine that opens it OK but that doesn't seem to help. I can't find the DAQmx pallet when I am on the block diagram of the non-working example vi, but it is present on the working computer.
I hope this rings some bells out in the labview ether.

Hey Stephen,
There is a CAR request about this problem within LabVIEW 8.5, ID 4BCEFEJK. This is a known bug in 8.5 which has been fixed in later versions.
Other than updating, there doesn't appear to be a workaround available I'm afraid.
Sorry I couldn't help more.
Kind regards,

Dominic,
Thanks for your help, I guess I'll have to update. I hope you understand if I don't mark your response as a solution, since the problem isn't solved, but at least I know what to do.
