Hi to all....
I always get this pop up error (see picture attached) when trying to build a Stand alone application. I got the full version of Labview 7.01 and the Application builder also. the runtime engine is also 7.01.

HFZ.

Hi HFZ,
that is a very unspecific error message, which is issued by Windows rather than by LabView...
Can you try to give a hint on possible problematic functions you have in your vis? Maybe ActiveX, DLLs, CINs?
Does this error pop up on every try to build an exe (using different projects) or just on this project?

The problem is, that I have twice before builded the application. and it is still running on another PC.
Now i'm trying to build the application on files from a BackUp i had saved on a CD once in the 2006. And what i have found out is that the destionation to these .vi's was long that time i maked that Back up.
Now when I try to run the VI's (without building the application).. I get communication problems. and the application wount run as supoose.
Do u think It's because some .dll's or library files are not recovered from the Back up ? Or do u got any conlusions?
regards

Hi HFZ,
"I get communication problems"
Maybe you should solve those problems first in the development environment before trying to build an exe?
And from your description we can only guess so far...
You should answer questions as:
- What kind of communication?
- What kind of communication problems?
- Any missing drivers?

Hi GardW
All comm. problem are handeled.
The problem was based on the destinations for the .VI's.
Labview 7.1 isn't so got to manage these. It's something the user got to be carefully about.
Allmost solved. But now can't get the default 'labview Icon' to my finnished Application. You know... when you make a stand alone application..
then somewhere under the building process... you can choose if you want your own Icon added as the application starter icon! If you don't choose any.. Labview makes the Labview Icon as your application starter Icon.
And that is my problem now. Any ideas???
Thanks for trying to help , i appriceate it !!

Hi GerdW
I got it ...
Under the first fane when opening the building application window. you can name your application in the display " Application.exe".
If you delete the '.exe' Labview will not make an Labview Icon.
Thanks for all GerdWilson!?
