This is a windows issue which has been seen before. Try opening Microsoft Paint, or other programs, and then opening the help document. The same error should occur as you are seeing in MAX.
This error usually means there is a problem with the HTML Help Run Time DLLs. These DLLs have to be installed and registered correctly. One solution to this problem is to use the MJ’s Diagnostics Utility. This utility checks the status of all your HTML Help Run Time DLLs and reports if all DLLs are installed correctly. If they are not, then it asks you if you want to register them.
After running this utility, restart your computer and you should be able to open all files with .chm extensions and MAX and LabVIEW help should be accessible. Please note that since this utility is not an NI product, we do not support it and you are using it at your own discretion.
