Ok! Well maybe you can drive your external supply with the do using a relay without need of changing tour ni board. Bye. Marco

Or a simple digital buffer circuit often does the job as well.  How much current does the sensor need?

It requires ~31 mA. How would you implement this as I have never worked with these things before.

Looks like something like a CD74AC244E should do the trick for you.  If you need help figuring out how to hook it up, I recommend you find an Electrical Engineer (or student) to help you.
