FTP copied files

Hello all,

I'm using self made VIs based on internet toolkit (FTP) to copy files and folders from a RT PXI to a conventional PC.

To check if the process is correct, after copying a file, I check the original file size (with "FTP get file info.vi") and the copied file size (with "File Info").
Can someone tell me why .ini files (original and copied) have exactly the same size, and .dat files are always a little bit bigger when copied to a WinPC ?? :S

Is it because of a difference between RT OS and Windows ??

Thanks in advance for any info.

hi there

i'm not familiar with the internet toolkit but for me it sounds like the .ini files are transfered as binaries and the .dat files as text. that would explain the higher number of bytes of the binary .dat files on a windows platform. when transfered as text all bytes "\n" (x0A) are replaced by "\r\n" (x0D x0A)

best regards

When I enable the "bin" option on the FTP vi, size result to be exactly the same !
