Failes to connect to MXS

Hello,

I configured my LabviewRT target using MAX but when I reboot the target in labviewRT Mode, I get the following error message:

[nidevldp--205--tDeviceloader.cpp--------------] NIDEVLD Fatal Error: Failed to connect to MXS
[nidevldp--206--tDeviceLaoder.cpp--------------] MAX configuration files may be corrupt

Could anyone tell me what is wrong with my system, it does not work unless I boot in Safe Mode

Hello,

What is the controller that you have? What chassis is it in? If you uninstall everything on the RT box and install only LabVIEW RT, VISA and VISA server that should fix it. Then start installing one by one of the drivers and let me know if you get any errors with any of them.

The error message is indicating that the configuration database may have become corrupt (this might happen if the system was powered off while the database was being written). Try the following:
reboot the controller in "safe mode." Then ftp to the target and delete the "config.mxs" and "config.mxc" files as well as the "last" directory. Then reboot the target and see if that works.

To reiterate what Joe said, sometimes config.mxs does not allow you to just delete it. You might need to rename it first to something like config.mxs.old. Then you should be able to delete it (assuming you couldn't delete it in the first place).

I too get the same error. I think i got this after a DAQmX innstallation!! is this a known issue with DaqMX?? also how do i reboot my contriler into safe mode???

To reboot into safe mode simply flip the 'Safe Mode' switch on your controller and power cycle the controller.
