Failing LabView Instalation

Hello,

I have to install LabView for University, but when I started the instalation, an error occurred: "Could not find product 'ni-labview-2019-x86_19.1_suite'.

I would have cleaned everything about labview etc, but I've seen in the forums that this programme is quite delicate, so I would know how to proceed.

Thank you.

You failed to give enough details.  I've done more installations of LabVIEW 2019 than I'd like to count, both on my own (two) machines (hint: N > 10) and helping colleagues to do it on their machines.  Here are some questions:

  • Are you running Windows 10 on a PC?  Has it been update within the last year (i.e. is it at least Version 1803)?
  • Has LabVIEW ever been installed on this machine?  If so, has it been properly uninstalled?  [There are numerous posts on this Forum, and on the Web, about how to do this safely and completely -- my strong advice is to NOT touch the Registry].
  • How are you installing LabVIEW?  Do you have an Installation Kit (i.e. a USB Drive with an Installation Image]?  Have you downloaded an Installer from the Web?  If so, what is its name?  Do you know the version of LabVIEW you are trying to install?  Do you know if it is 32-bit or 64-bit LabVIEW?  [From the name you mentions, I'm assuming you are trying to installing LabVIEW 2019, possibly SP1, 32-bit, but cannot tell if you downloaded an installer from the Web or are using something else].
  • If you go into Control Panel, Programs and Features, do you see either National Instruments Software or NI Package Manager in the list of Programs?
  • Do you have Admin rights?

Most successful installations of LabVIEW 2019 (in my experience) start with a PC running Windows 10 that does not have National Instruments Software installed.  The installation starts by downloaded an Installer from NI, which installs the latest version of NI Package Manager (my latest installation shows NIPM 20.0.0).  You then use this to install the version(s) [I recommend 32-bit LabVIEW, unless you know you need 64-bit for the address space] of LabVIEW and the minumum set of Modules, Toolkits, Add-ons, and Drivers.  I also recommend you install "a piece at a time", saving Drivers for last -- this might not always be necessary, but I've had to redo more than one installation where I tried to install "all-at-once" ...
