Flow measurement for positive displacement pump

Hi Nathand,

Thanks for the reply. The flow meter was part of the old rig but not the pump itself. I don't know what the meaning of hyperterminal. I imagine it would be like this, I connect the pump to the electric grid, then prepare the labview and try if the command is working. How can I check if the NI-VISA has been installed into the computer? And where can I look for the LabVIEW basic serial write and read example?

The serial write and read example can be found, not surpringly, in the example finder under the Help menu.  Hyperterminal is a Windows accessory (Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Communications) that allows you to do simple serial communications.  You can see if VISA is installed by opening Measurement and Automation Explorer and looking in the software tree, or by looking for the VISA functions in the LabVIEW Instrument I/O palette.
