From vision builder to labview

Well VBAI 2012 is build by NI using LV 2011, so it will only be able (agree to try) to export you inspection in LV 2011.

Download & install LV 2011 SP1

Then install VDM for it (just need to re-run you VDM 2012 so that it installs the stuff for LV 2011)

Your LabVIEW Licence number will work for LV 2011 if it worked for 2012.

Then it should work.

I know, it's a bit annoying but VBAI is always tied to one specific version of LabVIEW.

I think I have to uninstall labview 2012 for that, which would mean uninstall everything, and having to reinstall everything afterwards...

Do you know if tools can be converted from labview the same way but from vision assistant?

You don't need to uninstall LV 2012 to install 2011, same for VDM 2012, when you installed VDM 2012, you probably only installed the support for LV 2012 because at the time you only had LV 2012 installed, but if you relaunch the VDN 2012 installed you can ask it to only install the support for 2011 (that's only if LV 2011 is installed of course) but you certainly don't want to uninstall it!

I haae never used Vision Assistant by itself, only a couple of times I used it from VBAI to create a custom step to extract a colour pane from a color image. Even if i've not tried, I'm pretty sure you can export inspection from it to LabVIEW as well.

Hope this helps

Dear Titou,

I am not that familiar with LabView yet, and would really appreciate some help.

I have attached to this message three documents. the first one represents the block diagram of how I can use a few tools from labview with my thermal camera. All this works fine for this one. The second one, is a tool developped from Vision Assistant, but created as a LabView VI, so same in the block diagram. And in the third one, is the block diagram of the two (the first which corresponds to image and few data from the camera, and the second one the tool developped in Vision assistant) together. Bacsically my question is, could you help me or show me how to link the two, so that I can use the tool developped in Vision Assistant with my image from the thermal camera (file 1). Link file 1 and 2 together basically.

Many thanks for your time
