Fully Functional Website Using Internet Toolkit

Has anyone out there LabVIEW-land deployed a fully functional website using the Internet and DataBase Connectivity Toolkits?  My preference is to develop my website using LabVIEW (as opposed to PHP) but I want to know about any undocumented 'gotchas' before spending too much time on it.  If you have a running website developed with LabVIEW can you respond to this post and list the URL(s)?  I eventually want to add a shopping cart to my website so I am interested in HTTPS and other security features.

Has anyone had any trouble finding a hosting service that will host the website on a Windows box?  I can find a slew of hosting services running Linux but very few running Windows.

Two thoughts:

1) If you want a website, you'll be far better off using a language whose strength lies in that sort of stuff. PHP, ASP, whatever, but the right tool for the job. LabVIEW's great, but it's not necessarily the best choice in all situations.

2) As far as finding a webhost is concerned, you're not likely to find one that will (cheaply) let you run arbitrary executables or LabVIEW code. I use 1and1 (www.1and1.com) personally, but of their hosting options anything short of "You basically run the server yourself, completely, and have to manage all the security / updating stuff yourself, we just colo it for you" is probably not going to work. It may be easier (at least for now) to run your own server and use dyndns or something to provide an address. Not the most professional way to do business, but it'd work.

Hi DivByZero!

I have not come across any user solutions where customers have deployed fully functional websites with those toolkits.  You may want to read through the Internet Toolkit Troubleshooting Wizard.  It gives lots of information, including some FAQ, on the toolkit.  If you have any questions after looking over this documentation, let us know.  If you could provide more information on why LabVIEW needs to be integrated, that will be helpful.  I will look further into your issue and if I am able to find any additional information for you, I will post it here.  Have a great day!
