Getting Started with DSC and AB RSlogix 5000 PLC

Hello,

I am new to DSC and found the NI doc. on"Getting Started with the Labview Datalogging and Supervisory Control Module" I went through the 15 page exercise with the Tank Simulator and everything worked fine (seemed like an awful lot of stuff to accomplish).

I now need to do a similar thing with AB RSlogix 5000 processor to log a few items. Is there a link you could sent me on how to do this, as I not sure how to do this by following similar steps as your tank simulator exercise. Any examples would be helpful on DCS and AB PLC's.

Hi John,

This Developer Zone article called Connect to Any PLC is great for showing step by step how to configure your OPC client and view your data with DSC shared varibles in the Variable Manager.  You can then use your shared variables in LabVIEW to work with your data from your PLC.
