Looks like this goes back a ways.  Have you wrote anything for the 3589A to perform impedance measurements?

I have not wrote anything for that instrument in a long time. When I do have to use the instrument, I just use the grabit program to get the info that I need. It has been a long time though since I used it. Do you have the programmers manual? If you do it should not be that hard to figure it out.

All the VI's that I have for this are in the ZIP file with this thread.
