HP latop hangs on second CD for LabVIEW device driver install

I just received  a new HP laptop. On both LabVIEW 7.1 and 8.2.1 so far I installed LabVIEW OK. The install  then asks for the Device drivers CD and it installes OK. The install calls for the second CD, I remove the first one, put the second one in the drive and wait for hours for it to be recognized. It never gets recognized. I hit the "Rescan" button. An hour glass cursor comes up and stays there for hours. When I try to cancel, close the window, whatever, nothing happens. The task manager will not end the task. I have to used the task manager to shut down the computer. Does anyone have any ideas how to fis this?
Thank you,

I use to do that until I started to do installation builds. I now copy each of the CDs into an installation area on the comuter. When it prompts for the disk, i just point to this location. When it needs the second disk, I point to the next location and so forth.

Ya, I copied the 3 cd set to a directory on the hard drive. CD 2 and 3 have all the relavent stuff in a dir named "Products" CD 1 has a "Products" dir too. I copied everything from all "Products" directories to the one on the hard drive. Then I edited the setup.ini file. I found all Volume=2 and Volume=3 entries and replaced them with Volume=1. Then, to install I just double-clicked autorun. This seems to work. However, I shouldn't have to do this. What I really what is a way to fix the CD problem so I can intall everything the right way from the CD.

That would be nice.

Have you tried that with  your laptop? I find that the disk drive installation to be more reliable than CD.
