My hardware:
cDAQ-9174 (4slot) with a...
NI9215 (AIO) and a
NI 9401 (DIO)
I have a accelerometer (analog) signal that I would like to perform a sweep function to get resonance( peak amplitude). I would eventually like to display this sweep( amplitude vs Frequency) so I can get a halfpower curve and take automatic frequency measurements when I want.
My frequency range is 10hz-120hz.
My accelerometer voltage varies from 10mV-10V.
I'm having trouble understanding the concept behind creating a function generator with the hardware I currently have. (terminal wiring, task management in labview, etc.)
I understand that my cDAQ-9174 has internal clocks that I could use to perform this sweep, but I'm at a loss on how to go about wiring the hardware.
My mail goal is to start using Labview to perform a digital sweep. I am currently using an analog FG.

I'm a little confused about your setup. So you're saying you already have an Analog FG but you also want to do it with the cDAQ? If so, simply use a BNC cable from one terminal of 9215 to another on the 9215. Then set one as input and the other as output. This way you can generate a waveform in the output and the collect the data through the input.
