Has anyone used a touch screen monitor with scxi.I am having video lock ups while using LV and MAX

I have a PCI-MIO-16XE-50 daq card (dev1) connected to a scxi-1000 chassis address 0 ID 1, with a scxi-1102,1163,1163,1162 slots 1,2,3,4 respectively.Cable is connected to daq card to 1102 card .Micro touch screen is used on com2. Have tried other serial ports 1,5. Touch screen works fine with windows until LabView and max is installed .Video lockups,Max failures occur.MAX seems to confict with touch screen.

In general, I wouldn't think touchscreen drivers would have much to do with causing LV to hang. Since this TS uses a serial interface (much as any serial pointing device does), I would expect that the underlying COM port is reserved before MAX/VISA port discovery is done. I'd be interested to know, after the PC is booted, and the TS driver is loaded, does the COM port appear in the Device Manager? Does HyperTerminal list it, and if so what happens if you try to open it w/HT? I'd follow up with inspecting the visaconf.ini file to see if the COM port is statically listed.

(Having written this, I now foolishly ask, "Are you running some form of Windows OS?")

Best of luck,
Dave

The com port does show up in device manager but I have not looked at any VISA config info.I am using windows 98 .The way touch screen is activated before loading LV .I have not used hyperterminal with touchscreen.Touch screen works fine with all windows applications but LABVIEW with scxi. Will work fine if just DAQ card is used for programing and VI execution .
