Have LV 7.0 and 7.1.1. When I start LV 7.0 it wants to install it every time.

I have both LV 7.0 and 7.1 installed on my system.  Every time I start LV 7.0, it wants to "install" something from the CD.  Of course it doesn't say what it wants, just that the feature I want is on the CD.
If I double-click on a vi this doesn't happen - it starts fine.  It only happens when I start LV 7 from the Start menu or desktop icon.

This doesn't happen with LV 7.1.

This is not normal behavior. have you tried repairing the LV 7.0 install?

Did you use the default install locations when you installed 7.0 and 7.1?

I just figured it out.  The shortcut on the desktop must have been pointing to a strange location.
I can't find out where because the properties dialog for it just showed "LabView" as the target with no path, and it was grayed out so I couldn't change it.  The "Find Target..." and "Change Icon..." buttons were also grayed out.
Why does Microsoft obfuscate things like that?

I deleted the shortcut and made a new one to c:\program files\national instruments\labview 7.0\labview.exe and it works fine now.  The strange thing is that it did start LV 7.0, but it wanted to do some installation every time.
