Help needed with retrieving data from sensor (ethernet)

I am currently testing out labview and thus doing a small project on it. It is about connecting a sensor to labview using TCP/IP.

What I've done so far is successfully connecting my sensor to MAX through TCP/IP. Now the current problem is retrieving the data. My sensor is micron optics si425. It allows me to view 4 different graphs of the material I am testing (strain testing) which are sensor wavelength, power, channel power and a table which shows all wavelength readings of the sensors connected.

I wish to use labview to read those reading but after setting up the connection, I'm pretty lost at how to continue.

My main questions are:

How do I read each sensor from individual channel?

How do I read all the sensors from individual channel?

How do i switch channels?

How do I switch sensors?

And of course, How do I even get a reading in the first place?

Thanks in advance to all.
Best Regards,

JQ

According to the datasheet, there is a LabVIEW utility available. Have you gotten that and tried it? On the manufacturer's web page, I did not see a link to any manual that would explain the commands. Unless someone with experience with the instrument sees this question and answers, you would need to provide the manual to get some help. I also found this

Which file did you download? From the vendor or from the third-party. I got the impression that the third-part download was a demo only and a LabVIEW executable. You cannot view the diagram of a executable on a VI that is password protected. You may have to buy the package from the third-party in order to get source code. If the code is from the vendor, I guess I would complain to them. I don't think a vendor should ever hide the methods used to communicate with their instrument.

I've downloaded the 3rd party demo... n you are right, its only an executable file... need 2 contact them for more information like asking them to customize a programme or purchase the full version from them... I'll continue to try and find more information about it... thanx for the time dennis... Smiley Very Happy

I actually wrote the third party software.  I work for Aither Engineering.  It has a lot more functionality than Micron's software.  If you would like more information on our software you can e-mail me at tsalter@aitherengineering.com

I am trying to read the outputs from a sm125 unit. I implemented the given source code given in the manual and now I can communicate with the unit. But I do not know how I could read the four channels? I expected peak values of the reflecting waveforms from the four channels. Am I missing something here?

I presume JQ has already done this. Would you be able to help me? Thank you very much in advance.
