Where is the Application Builder?

Just installed v8.5 of LabView Professional Development System. I cannot locate the menu item to start the Application Builder even though I have searched through the help files. It says it should be under Project Explorer/Tools. Help also says that it may be hidden by an option selection which I also have not been able to locate. Help also confirms that LV PDS does come with the Application Builder.

My end goal is to package a couple if VI's as DLL's to be called from LabWindows C. The old version 6i of LabView made this very easy.

Thanks in advance....

Hello,

Since LabVIEW 6i, the way of building an Executable, Installer, DLL,... change a little bit.
Since LabVIEW 8, you must work into a project to build an exe.
The following link explain how to do it.
Distributing Applications with the LabVIEW Application Builder

Thanks, Nick for your reply. The document you referenced was just what I was looking for.

The menu items were in Project Explorer Project\MyComputer\BuildSpecifications\New...Perfect!

Thanks for making this post.

I'm just getting rolling on my latest project, and this will be my first time using LV 8.5

It's quite a bit different.  I've never used the Project Explorer before.  So it's not familiar to me.  Looks like I've got some more reading to do.  Better to find out now though.

Regards,

I just upgraded from 7.1.1 a month ago and although there is a learning curve for the project window I consider it time well spent.  The new interface is more powerful and easier once you get the hang of it.

There is a neat app builder tutorial in the examples: Toolkits and Modules>Application Builder> AB Tutorial GUI.vi that will help get you started.
