Help with SR830 L-I Amp. FAST data transfer mode

Hi everyone,

The Stanford Research 830 Dual Phase Lock-In Amplifier is what I need help with today... I've contacted SRS but who knows how long it will be till they get back to me and, frankly, this forum always provides the best help anyway! 🙂

In the SR830 there is a FAST data transfer mode, declared by sending cmd FAST1, which if is setup properly is supposed to send out data across the gpib AS it is recording it to the buffers (at whatever specified frequency).  I cannot get this fast mode working, and it is very imperative that I do.

Does anyone have experience with the FAST mode of the SR830 that could lend a hand, or maybe even an example VI?

Thanks,

Jonathan

Hi!

Can you get a Fast response if you send a serial command?  (Try using Hyperterm or some such)  You should get data back from each channel.  If that works, try the "snap" (with the serial connection) and see if that works.  See if you can narrow it down to a GPIB problem.

Let me know what you find.

I gave up on the fast mode... talking to someone at stanford research, even if I did get the fast mode working I wouldn't be able to have two L-Is in fast mode on the same gpib bus.

Snap works perfect though.
