Hex string conversion to ASCII Character string

I have a Hex String 494A4B4C and want this string to get converted in ASCII Character String. IJKL. How to do in Labview 8.5.

If your string always is in this length (8 hex numbers) you can use the following (I currently have no LabVIEW available):

• Hexidecimal String to Number (use an U32 as default datatype)
• Typecast the number to an array of U8 (use an constant array of U8 as type input)
• Byte Array to String will output the string you want.

Yes. I forgot his last name TonP. Thanks for reminding that Ray. Fortunately he didn't changed his icon and since he is a PEV, its easy to catch him.

Yes Ray. You change your name to JLV or JoeLabVIEW or Ray.R whatever you like. But please don't change this icon. It is favorite for lot of people here.
