How can I change the text label look of a (silver) dial?

Ah Jeff, now I see. I just looked at the pictures, didn't pay enough attention to the description. My bad!

Just an update: I managed to create a custom control. The colours of the enum behave a bit strangely  (they seem to change without any particular reason), but it appears to be the neatest workaround so far. (file attached)

OK how did you accomplish the replacement? (Nicely worked out!)

Noted issues remain:

Digital display of the text display is still "Modern"

Turning text values off and on again reverts to a "Modern" text display

While I was in Customize Mode I clicked on the text display and went to Edit > Customize Control. Afterwards I was able to replace the text with a proper -silver style- enum. As you pointed out it is anything but perfect, though I find it more convenient than messing with the Event Structure.
