How can I control a HP 33120A waveform generator with the serial port of my PC?

I want to control a HP 33120A waveform generator with my PC using the serial port. I don't have any idea about how to do it. If you've done it or if you know how I can do it, please give me some indications.

Although I've not used it there is an instrument driver for your instrument on NI's site that says it supports serial communication. That may be a good start.

Hi,

You will need to set the interface on the instrument for RS232 use. I think by default it maybe set to GPIB.

Make sure you download the IVI version of the driver. The non IVI are GPIB Only.

You will need to setup the Measurement and Explorer.
