It depends on the instrument. some instruments use an interface called GPIB which is also defined by the standard IEE-488. Some instruments connect via a serial connection. Other type of connections are USB and Ethernet. If it's GPIB, then you need a GPIB controller for the PC. First determine the type of remote control interface the instrument has by reading the manual and then you can ask for help in using LabVIEW.
