How do I create a driver for custom equipment

I have a current set up that I use to simulate a set up and then I have that datalogged onto excel using a different piece of software. I would like to create a driver for the set up and use it directly on labview instead, but I'm having trouble getting started with that. Any general information would be helpful.

If you wish to create a LabVIEW driver for serial, GPIB, Ethernet, USB, instruments, then there is a lot of tools and information at the Instrument Driver Guidelines site. If it's another type piece of equipment, you'll need to provide some more details on what it is and exactly what you're having trouble with getting started.
