How do I express special characters such as [EOT] in labview? ('\x04' inC)

Go to the help in the toolbar, then select the search the LABVIEW help, type strings in the search field. You can also use the Ctrl+? shortcut.

Right click on a string control or indicator, select '\ display', this will show special characters with a \-formatter. For EOT use \04:
