How do I fix the error: "The installation of this application may be corrupt. Use Add or Remove Programs in the Widows Control Panel to attempt to repair this program."

Hello,

So I installed LV 2009 to upgrade form LV 8.6 and everything ran well.  I wasn't asked to put in the second DVD but everything seemed to work fine.  I have tried the repair and it didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

When do you get that error? That message is not specific to LabVIEW, but indicates a (potentially) corrupt installation. If repair did not fix the problem then I would suggest performing a complete uninstall and reinstalling LV 2009. You should perform a disk check before doing so just to make sure you have no hardware problems. It's also possible you may have a bad DVD with a corrupt file. Try copying the DVD to your hard drive and running the install from there.

I get the error when I try to run the program.  I have also tried unistalling and then reinstalling, I have tried using the installer downloaded form the NI website, and none of those have worked.

Thanks for the reply I'll try a disk check.

Seems to be trouble with MS side by side assemblies. This message not from LabVIEW, it coming usually from Windows. Probably conflict with other application on your PC.

At the first check which application errors you have in Event Viewer.

Second, try to reinstall all .net Run-Times and MSVC Run-Times (both 8.0 and 9.0) - this may help.

Rather than reply to a 7-year-old post, start a new Message.  Tell us what you did (did you really install LabVIEW 2009, using only one DVD?), what you did earlier (had you really previously installed LabVIEW 8.6 that ran well?), and what specifically you have tried.

New Problem should suggest a New Post.
