How do I format a Compact Flash for the TPC-2012 and/or backup the system disk?

To format a Compact Flash for the TPC-2012 and/or backup the system disk, you will need to use a USB/Flash converter.  Once you have the flash card plugged in, it should show up under My Computer and then you can right click on it and go to Format.  You will want to format it into the FAT file structure. You then need to do upload that original flash file to the compact flash, place it into the TPC, and boot it up.  Please veiw the link below for additional information.  I hope this helps.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FORMAT A COMPACT FLASH FOR A TPC-2012!!!!!!   Been there done that.

Doing so will destory the image on the card and will require you to RMA the card AND the touch panel back to NI to have it repaired.   Because of the way the card is formatted by the manufacturer of the TPC it is not a normal image and is apparently a propriatary process that can not be released to the public.
