How do you resize the padding around a control? Text labels are cut off

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi all,

I have searched everywhere in the forum with no avail. How can I resize the width so that the text would fit inside the border? I have tried to resize the control in properties, but it only changes the width of the actual fill area. Not the rest of the control. Perhaps I am missing something obvious here but I messed around with this problem for an hour or so without success. Please point me in the right direction 🙂

Note: I am using custom font but the problem is the same with default fonts. When I add precision to the scale, the Y-axis labels are cut off and hanging off the control border.

Solution

Right-Click>>>Advanced>>>>Customize

Click the little wrench to switch to "Customize Mode"

Resize the housing as needed.

When closing the control editor, tell LV to replace the original.

Done!

Excellent. Thank you! Is there a way to automatically size the controller border according to the precision?

As a reference, after adjusting the controller border:

No Sir!

Not that I know of.

That question has never been asked prior to your query so I suspect it is rare enough that the functionality you are looking for simply does not exist.

When this happens to me, I resort to "Thank God they let me customize it!"

I have written custom LV controls but that is always a last resort.
